About the SIBO Academy

  • How It Started

As two dietitians who specialize in digestive health, we have been frustrated by a lack of evidence-based, affordable, and reliable SIBO training. We have grown an expertise in SIBO over years of hard work and expensive trainings. We decided that there should be a better and quicker way for dietitians to develop an expertise in this growing practice area. The SIBO Academy is our way of solving that problem.

  • Why SIBO Academy?

There are other SIBO courses and conferences available and they do have value. However, none are designed for and by Registered Dietitians and, thus, often are not fully compatible with our scope of practice. This is the only source for SIBO information that is specifically designed to make RDs more effective, and that is approved for CPEs by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Who Our Courses Are For

Our detailed and evidence-based courses are designed by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists to provide information that can be directly applied within our scope of practice. That being said, our courses are also helpful for other nutrition professionals who use a food-first approach.

Caitlin Self, MS, CNS, LDN

The Most Comprehensive SIBO Resource for Nutrition Pros

Caitlin Self, MS, CNS, LDN

I have been working with SIBO for over a year, and I've never found anything as comprehensive and invaluable as the SIBO Academy 8-course program for nutritionists and dietitians. Alicia and Erin break down this condition by covering what it is, root causes, dietary changes, and supplement protocols. I've always said SIBO is tricky and requires a practitioner with a lot of time to devote to research - but, honestly, you just need to take this course! I highly recommend this for all practitioners who expect to see SIBO in their practice. I wish this were a certification that was required before working with SIBO!

Perfect for Getting Confident with SIBO Patients

Susan Gleaton, RDN, CLT

I received a lot of benefit from the SIBO Academy! I had clients with whom I suspected SIBO, but was at a loss as to what to do with them. From the SIBO Academy, I learned not only how to better spot them, but also how to test them, interpret test results, and most importantly, how to use supplements, foods, and vagal nerve “exercises” to help them. Now I’m better prepared for those clients or potential clients with whom I suspect SIBO.

Alicia and Erin are two Registered Dietitians who hold additional certification in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. Free Histamine Training from Transformation Enzymes

Learn how to be effective with histamine intolerance

Histamine plays a role in allergies and reactions to histamine-rich foods. The relationship between histamine, SIBO and IBS, are also important to understand. Additionally, genetic factors can predispose a patient to suffer the effects of this biogenic amine, so an appreciation of the epigenetics of histamine intolerance can improve clinical outcomes. This free training sheds light on this emerging clinical presentation, discuss the relationship between histamine intolerance, IBS, and SIBO, and points to strategies for managing it naturally.

Free Training on Functional Stool Testing

Address challenging SIBO & IBS cases with the GI MAP

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) are commonly-diagnosed conditions, but current treatment approaches often do not result in satisfactory, long-lasting symptom improvement. Advanced stool testing with quantitative PCR (qPCR) can provide important insights into some of the most common gastrointestinal and microbial imbalances that may be hindering treatment responses in these conditions. In this presentation, Dr. Fabian discusses case examples illustrating how the insights gained from advanced stool testing can help practitioners to develop better treatment approaches for patients and clients.
